Operation Bob

I finally broke down and created a Squidoo lens.  I guess that makes me a Squidooer, a Squidee, or something.  I’m not quite sure since I don’t know what a Squidoo is! 

The experience was relatively painless.  It is template based so you enter your text, chose your options, rearrange the layout and off you go.  I did it originally as a another way to promote this blog and attract more readers.  After digging in a bit I was suprised to learn that you can actually make a few bucks with your lens.  First, you get a revenue share of the google ads.  Second, if you reccomend a product using one of the modules, you get a cut of that as well.  They openly admit no one is getting rich, but every penny adds up.

A “lens” on Squidoo is basically a page.  A page where you can express information, opinion, or whatever on any topic you like.  Beleive me there are some small niche and very bizarre topics there.  For my first lens, I gave an overview of the freelance writing for online content opportunities I’ve worked with. 

I will probably create more lenses as time permits.  It was a lot easier than I expected, and actually kinda fun.
