EntreCard “Drop Yours”
Among the current buzz in the world of blogging is EntreCard, and rightfully so. Some spunky guy (don’t remember his name - sorry guy) came up with a really cool idea centered around a 125px X 125px image/button/graphic/whatever which is now EntreCard. It’s like an electronic business card or calling card so to speak that you leave behind when you visit a blog that uses it.
Bloggers are a tight and supportive community, and as such - if you let someone know that you took the time to check out their blog, they’re likely to return the favor. This can result in nothing less than a page view and maybe even a comment, link, suggestion, or relationship. It’s all good.
As you go around “dropping yours” (EntreCard, that is) and others are dropping theirs on you, you earn credits you can use to advertise by way of having your EntreCard placed on someone else’s blog for a day.
It’s really easy, fun to do, the credits add up fast, and it’s free. Yup, all this and it doesn’t cost one red cent. The founder of EntreCard notes that, at present, the company isn’t making a dime off of this great service and is working on a way to monetize it without losing anything in the process. Don’t worry, all of his possible concepts are more than reasonable.
If you’ve got an EntreCard, drop it over there in the left column. If you don’t, go get one already!

i have an entrecard although i still dont know its function
and how can i able to show it on my blog
kindly help
Hey bluedreamer - thanks for stopping by!
Copy the code that EntreCard provides in the “Get Code” tab of their site and paste it somewhere on your blog - over on the right sidebar where you have your slideshow and poll might be a good place.
When someone with an EntreCard visits your site and “drops” their card (by clicking the “drop yours” button in the widget) you get 1 credit and they get 1 credit.
Likewise, if you have an EntreCard and you visit another site which has one, like mine, if you “drop yours” you’ll get one credit and I’ll get one credit.
Credits are used to buy advertising. So, once you have some credits you can cash them in to have your card displayed on a site of your choosing for a day.
Hope that helps. Bob.
How long does the “drop yours” last? I can’t seem to find it on many sites with the card. In fact, I don’t even see your entrecard on this page.
Entrepreneur - I’m not sure if I understand the question, but I’ll try… You can drop your card on an EntreCard Widget once per day. If you’ve already dropped that day it will say “Thanks” instead of drop yours.
As for mine, right now its only on the home page - in the center of the screen toward the bottom. I’m in the middle of a layout re-design, so it will be moving very soon to a place where it can be seen on any page.
Hope that helped, If I missed it altogether let me know.
Do you drop yours? Cos I sure have dropped mine around lately!
Oh yeah - and it can get addictive.
EntreCard is growing quickly but I’m worried it will burn itself out unless Graham manages to monetize the traffic for bloggers. Its biggest hurdle is that the traffic generated is other bloggers trying to drop cards. This is the modern form of spamming.
In the sense that it generates traffic EntreCard works, no doubt there (at least initially). As far as being of value in terms of users and bloggers alike, I’m very skeptical.
Personally I’m a bigger fan of content linking. It brings better users increasing CTR as well as traffic. Remember 1% increase in CTR is worth hundreds of users. Link your blog with similar pages (the core of Arkayne) and you’ll get better page rank and CTR.

It really is addictive. I’ve been a member for one day and WOW it’s hard to stop. It’s only a great thing if people read other blogs and leave comments, which I have been trying to do.
