Operation Bob

So I’m sitting at my computer in the dark of night and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… except, what is that scratching noise from the floor? Yup, heard some scratching and rattling of wires. Checked it out and saw nothing. Several times it happened again, several times found nothing.

Then awhile later I heard it from above. I’ve got a hole in the wall up there by the ceiling where a network cable runs through to the next room (yeah, classy ain’t it.) I stood on my desk and pointed a flashlight and sure enough, this little bugger pokes his nose out and looks right at me. Brave, eh!

Since I seemed to have his attention, I tried to reason with him and explain his options – but he wasn’t sticking around for the talk. He disappeared back into the wall and I haven’t heard from him since. I’m sure he’s still around, just maintaining a low profile for the moment.

Anyway, it could be worse. Look at this pic from the story CNN reported where researchers in Indonesia found a new variety of rat 5x the size of a city rat. And as a bonus, it’s not afraid of people at all. Oh dear. The end is near.
