5 Ways to Screen a Money Maker
When you find an income opportunity (that’s what I call them, you may say ‘money maker’ or ‘way to make money online’) the main question in your mind is “is this legit?” You may not know until you try it for yourself, but here are a few things I do to try and screen opportunities and save some time…
- Do a Google search with the name of the opportunity and add the word ’scam’ at the end. If enough people feel like they’ve been scammed by this opportunity, somebody will be writing about their experience on a blog or in a forum somewhere.
- Do a Google search with the word ‘review’ at the end. Explained in more detail in my post How to Find Money Makers.
- Look for red flags, described in my post 5 Make Money Red Flags.
- Ask around. If you can’t find any buzz, good or bad, post in forums or e-mail authorities on the subject and ask what experiences others have had.
- Consider the risk. If the opportunity is free to start and doesn’t take a great deal of time, there isn’t much to loose. If it costs money to join up or is going to take a lot of time, be more thorough and cautious.
