Favorite WordPress 2.5 Feature

Like many of you, I upgraded to WordPress 2.5.  Well, actually I upgraded this blog and a few others - still a few to go, but that’s running in the background right now.  Anyway - just wanted to put my thoughts out there on the changes.  I like the cleaner design of the admin panel, but my absolute favorite feature is the ability to set the publish date for a post.

I have a few blogs that are completely not time-sensitive and sometimes I get on a roll and write 3 or 4 posts and other times I get swamped and can’t post on those for days or weeks at a time.  Now, when the juices are flowing and I write extra posts I can set them to publish auto-magically over the coming days.  That’s awesome!! I have been waiting for that feature to come around.

So what do you like or dislike about 2.5?  Am I missing any other cool features?

  1. how did you upgrade? manually or one click? i upgraded my test blog, but not my main blog. it looks clean…still feeling my way around a bit, but I like the layout.

  2. I’ve always been able to future-date my posts. That’s not new to me in 2.5. I time-stamp almost all my posts for the following morning (or technically later on in the morning).

@Natural - The better hosting companies out there offer one-click upgrades and even installs. I know my hosting service (Dreamhost) offers it.

  3. Natural - I did it manually.

Elliott - That’s cool. I knew you could change the date/time stamp in the older versions, but i didn’t realize it would ‘hold’ the post until that date. Guess I was missing out!
