Where Have They Gone?
There are a good many blogs that I look at regularly. Lately I’ve noticed more and more of them seeming to be abandoned. Some just fade away and still exist, but with the last post a few months ago. Some are wiped from existence altogether.
It’s little more than a trivial observation, but I can’t help but wonder where they’ve gone? What happened, and why have so many disappeared? I have a few theories, not that any of them are correct. One is that the folks that started blogging to earn some cash learned after a short while that there is a lot of work invested and the payoff is anything but immediate.
Now I know that not everyone blogs for money. Many blog to express themselves and share their talents and experiences with the world. I suspect that when these folks stop blogging it’s probably because other priorities have gotten bumped up or maybe they’ve just lost interest.
Those are just my guesses, who really knows the real reasons. As a reader, I know it’s kinda disappointing to see some great blogs fade away. Being that we share a sense of community, it also sorta feels like a friend has moved far away.
