Back to the Dentist
A few weeks ago the little one decided to ride his little bike thing off the hearth and landed face first into the corner of the coffee table. It pushed one of his front teeth back a bit and obviously hurt quite a bit. We took him to the emergency room (it was late in the evening) and then followed up with a dentist. Both said there wasn’t anything they could do, just keep an eye on it and give him tylenol for pain if he needed it. The dentist said to keep him on a soft diet for a week, which was really hard for a kid that loves chicken, steak, hard fruit, potato chips, and so on. But, we made it through and as the dentist suspected he managed to work the tooth almost back into it’s original position by himself.
So now we’re going back for a follow up. I’d rather go to a proctologist than a dentist. Every dentist I’ve met has been very nice, none have ever tried to kill me or anything, but they scare me silly. The sound of the drills, the sight of the chair, it all gets me quite queasy!!
My fear aside, hopefully the little guy is taking a break from the stunts for awhile. Between his little accidents and the cold/flu a few months back we’ve spent way to much time at the hospital and doctor’s. I’m sure it’s unpleasant for him, at least when it happens. Although, it seems that by the time we get to the doctor he is a happy little clam and the doctor thinks we are nuts.
