More Pet Peeves
Awhile back I started a series of pet peeves and kicked it off with my gripes about Television. It was nice to hear from you all via comments that I’m not alone in the little things that irk me. This weekend I’ve been out and about a bit and noted several more pet peeves to share.
People who mow their grass and shoot it out into the road! Especially here in the neighborhood. Do they not realize that if they would just mow in the opposite direction, at least for a pass or two, the grass would stay in the yard where it belongs! It’s never the folks who regularly mow their grass either, it’s the one or two houses that let their grass get a foot high and then make hay and blow it all into the street.
50 Registers and 2 cashiers! If you didn’t already guess, I’m talking about Wal-Mart. Can somebody tell me why they have all those registers when only a couple of them are open at any given time? Today we did some grocery shopping there and on the way in I noticed the lines were a mile long. Further back I saw two managers chatting in one of the aisles and as another employee walked past they asked him to go find some people who could go up front and work the registers. Seems to me it would have been more efficient to send that guy up to a register (along with one of the two managers) and then have the other go round up more help.
Drive Thru Misfits! If your drivers window doesn’t go down, maybe the drive-thru isn’t the best option for you. I’ve seen it more than once, the person that pulls up and opens the door and leans half-way out to give their order and then shuts the door, pulls around and has to open the door and lean out again to pay and get their food. The worst drive-through offender is the one who is ordering lunch for 20 and every single item is a special order. I don’t have anything against someone getting what they want, but go inside already!
Well, I feel better now.Â
